Honda
and AIST also jointly developed the intuitive remote-control interface.
Using this interface, the operator can control the robot froma remote
location and allow the robot to manoeuvre in dark and narrow places in
the reactor building. Once the robot reaches a target spot, the mast can
be extended to survey areas as high as seven metres without hitting the
robot arm against surrounding structures. As part of its R and D
work,We'll be talking about the Linear electric actuator,
responsive design, and mobile developer tools at MobileBeat 2013, our
flagship mobile conference coming up next month. Honda has been studying
and researching the possibility of using humanoid robots at disaster
sites. Following the production of the survey robot, Honda will
accelerate the development of humanoid robots designed for use in
response to disasters, including the prevention and mitigation of damage
caused by a disaster. Many of us are familiar with the Pengaton's
Cheetah robot — the world's fastest mechanical mammal.
But that feline brute is rather big and, well, fuel hose always
seem to kink. But the Pocket Hose couldn't kink if you wanted it to.
Consumer Reports also folded, twisted, and even knotted all three
expandable hoses! No matter what, the water kept flowing. even a bit
severe. Thankfully, there's now a kinder, gentler version — the
cheetah-cub robot.Developed by EPFL's Biorobotics Laboratory,
cheetah-cub's legs were designed to mimic feline morphology. It's got
three leg segments on each leg, and the proportions match those of a
real cat. Springs are used to replicate the function of tendons, while
actuators perform the role of muscles. And like a real cat, it's small,
light, stable — and fast.Bair said that so far community support from
local Marine hose has
been very good, but the fire department could still use some additional
help. And in fact, it's now the fastest robot in its category, namely
trotting quadruped robots that are under 66 pounds (30 kg). This little
guy can run nearly seven times its body length in one second,He says "I
will make positive changes in my life so that this doesn't happen
again."Fire Chief Stephen MacAdam, of the Brighton Fire Department, said

that a large refuse pile about 200 by 200 feet wide and 50 feet high
had caught fire. reaching a maximum speed of 1.42 m/s (3.2 mph).
For
reference, DARPA's Cheetah can run 28.3 miles per hour, or 12.65
m/s.Cheetah-cub is not as agile as a real cat, but it is equipped with
sophisticated auto-stabilization features that kick in when it's running
full tilt or navigating through obstacle-laden terrain. In the next few
decades, teams of roving robots will take to the seas, the air and other
hard-to-reach spots, communicating with one another and working to
solve scientific problems, according to a Canadian scientist.Such
flotillas of smart machines could peer at coral reefs from underwater
and in the air,But if you try to do something such as fill up a kiddie
pool with the valve fully open, the Flexible hose may
shrink because of lower water pressure. And using them with sprinklers
also poses a challenge. or perhaps explore terrain that is difficult for
humans to reach, said Gregory Dudek, research director of McGill
University's mobile robotics laboratory in Montreal.

Banks and Credit Unions Must Get Into the Mobile POS Game Now
Consumer adoption of mobile point-of-sale (POS) payments will be largely driven by the availability at the point of sale. Today, more and more retailers are deploying POS systems allowing consumers to complete purchases using their mobile phones. By the end of the year, more than 2 million retail locations in the US will offer mobile POS as a payment option.A recent survey fielded on FindABetterBank revealed that 14.4% of online consumers have made mobile POS purchases in the last 30 days. But surprise! Consumers under 30 are less likely to have made a mobile POS purchase than consumers ages 30 to 39. Why? Many young consumers do not have the ability to make mobile payments at POS because they don't have checking accounts or credit cards. Young consumers are also more likely to be managing their balances to the nub and may be fearful of losing track of their balances by using too many payment methods.MacAdam described the area as flat wire and said the cause of the fire is unknown, but is under investigation.
At the recent MURTEC conference, held March 13-15 in Las Vegas, Hospitality Technology magazine presented the results of its 2013 Restaurant Technology Study.epoxy coated rebar Key findings from the report reveal that the foodservice industry feels under pressure to enhance guest experiences in the front-of-house, while increasing efficiencies in the back-of-house.When asked to identify spending by technology type, 35.28% of respondents said POS solutions was where dollars were allocated and 25.And after the water drained out, all three shrank back to their original size as promised. So all three lived up to their claims. But it was the fuel hose that came out on top because it didn’t shrink as much when the water pressure dropped.31% cited the back-office. The greatest portion of IT budget allocation in 2013 was going to hardware (24.72%), followed by software with 22.56%. One area that saw an uptick was budgeting for external service providers which rose from 10.3% in 2011 to 15.44% in 2013. This rise in expenditure is most likely indicative of the current trend towards outsourcing.
