The Italian Market has truly evolved into a multi-cultural shopping
and dining mecca in recent years. Walking down the street, one
immediately notices "Italian shops" are mingled with Mexican, Middle
Eastern, Asian and Greek shops, among others. In addition to hearing a
variety of languages spoken,Low Temperature hoses suppliers are
providing a high quality steam transfer hoses which can be used in
steam transfer and heating application at oil refineries. visitors will
notice the melting pot of decor, ethnic foods and other products. When
Chef Jacquie of Taste4 Travel invited me along for one of her legendary
Taste of the Italian Market tours in South Philly last Saturday, I was
super excited.Push the tray as far as it will go, then gently lift up
the tray from the bottom. Look inside the Thermal pos printer for
a small tab. My fond childhood memories include many shopping trips to
the 9th Street Italian Market with my grandparents who lived at 10th and
Dickinson Sts.
On last Saturday's tour, we visited some newer
kids on the block as well as some tried-and-true 9th Street oldtimers,
including Pat's King of Steaks, Talluto's Pasta, Isgro's Pastries,
Fante's Kitchen Wares, Anthony's Coffee House, DiBruno Bros., San Roman
Tortilleria, Slice Pizzeria, and Bitar's. We ate everything from gelato
and cannoli to steak sandwiches "wit," pita and hummus, and tortillas
and salsa. I couldn't be rude and not sample, could I? And Chef Jacquie,
adhering closely to her Italian traditions, wouldn't allow a single
person in our tour group to leave without feeling stuffed.
At the start of the tour,And in addition to an electric battery-driven motor that automatically retracts the fuel hose and
even provides power-assisted extraction. we were given a colorful wrist
band that would entitle us to a discount if we shopped. So naturally, I
couldn't let that little opportunity go to waste! In addition to
purchasing ingredients and cheeses for a yummy Sunday dinner the next
day, I also snapped up some premium olive oil and balsamic vinegar, as
well as three pound containers of jumbo strawberries for a buck each. The
street road sweeper is
out this week to begin the springtime cleaning for Danvers Square and
main roads in town, weather permitting. Yes, there are some great buys
to be found along 9th Street. I still remember the year my husband and I
discovered fresh Christmas trees there for five dollars.Scientists,
including myself and my peers worldwide, worry that the current,
widespread use of low-dose antibiotics in Artificial animal feed constitutes a human-health hazard. We still talk about that year of the super bargain!
