Unacceptable articles of clothing listed in the memo included leggings
In 2010, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department adopted a policy banning tattoos or body art that were visible when deputies wore a short-sleeved summer uniform shirt. Under the policy, any deputy who had a visible tattoo prior to adoption of the new policy was allowed to keep it, but new recruits being considered for a job are asked if they would be willing to have a tattoo removed as a condition of employment, sheriff's department spokesman Cpl. Brian Humphreys said.
"For us, it's more about uniformity," Humphreys said. "We are representing the sheriff of Kanawha County, and important to bForklift forkse professional and appear professional. It's important for us to dress and look accordingly."
Kanawha County Clerk Vera McCormick sent a memo to her employees in September 2012 reminding them of her office's dress standards. "Clothing worn to the office should be selected to reflect a business-like and professional image," McCormick said.Unacceptable articles of clothing listed in the memo included leggings, sweat pants, halter tops, short shorts, short skirts, "sun dresses that reveal back or cleavage" and "tank shirts or tops that reveal back, cleavage or stomach." Jeans were discouraged unless employees would be working in an area that would likely damage or dirty nicer clothes.Sayre said county officials have recently begun requiring employees who work at service windows or deal often with taxpayers to wear polo shirts with their office logo and khaki pants. BROOKSVILLE - It started when a firefighter showed up for work with what his boss considered an offensive tattoo.
Human Resources Director Cheryl Marsden didn't elaborate but said it prompted her to revise the county employee dress code to better regulate the wearing of jewelry and tattoos. It"es before county"missioners for consideration Tuesday.Buy high quality Coach Grade Sunglasses, Custom Fit Stripe Shirt and more.Marsden said it's about projecting a professional image while dealing with the public.wholesale Best Dsquared Long T-Shirts from www.gotoptrade.com homepage. But a union official believes this has the potential to backfire in the county's face.Specifically, the revised policy states: "Jewelry worn by employees shall be conservative and not offensive or detract from a professional image."
It has been a lot of fun to watch
Among Mayhem's favorites is the red dress actress Lupita Nyong'o wore at the Golden Globes, which Angie says took 10 minutes to make. Another fun one to make was Katy Perry's musical notes dress, which the singer wore to the Grammy Awards this year.Though she is a photographer, Angie says she has no fashion background at all "I wear the same jeans and t shirt every day," she jokes. But she can see that Mayhem may just have a calling. For now, paper drinking straws though, disposable wooden cutlery making dresses with her daughter is less about fashion and all about bonding. It all began when Angie found her own clothes hidden inside Mayhem's toy box. The mom then suggested that they try creating a dress out of construction paper, and now Mayhem is the one calling all of the designer shots. The pair use anything from construction and toilet paper to masking tape and glue sticks. While Mayhem isn't old enough to use a pair of scissors, she stands by and directs her mom Angie so that she will cut just the right piece out.
"It has been a lot of fun to watch. She has learned that when you put the pieces flat next to each other, they won't work. [She knows that] to fit around your waist, you have to lay it at an angle," Angie explained to the Today Show. "She could layout construction paper right now and tape it all together into a dress. She knows how many pieces she needs for a top and bottom."
Pulling Inspiration From Celebs
Although the idea originally involved creating their own designs, now Angie likes to pull ideas off of the internet for Mayhem to replicate. Some ideas"e from the red carpet like you see above — Mayhem in replicas of Lupita Nyong'o and Jennifer Lawrence's gowns — and sometimes they even"e straight from the runway.http://cnbattachment.com/
Angie says that the replica of Lupita's dress only took ten minutes, and it's one of Mayhem's favorite looks!

Entrepreneurial bridesmaid crashes wedding market with Little Borrowed Dress
It's a conundrum of being in your 20s. Female friends who know full well that you can barely spring for nachos and a pitcher of beer at the local dive bar ask you to be a bridesmaid in their wedding, a prospect that means buying an expensive formal dress that will be worn precisely once.Millennial women are the demographic most likely to be asked, and while they are loathe to say "no," many struggle financially as one friend's wedding can snowball into four or five or six, all in the same year. Corie Hardee, founder of New York City-based startup Little Borrowed Dress, understands this firsthand."I've personally been a bridesmaid many times, disposable paper cups and never wore the dress again," Hardee tells me. "You can go online and rent a handbag or a gown for other occasions, but not for being a bridesmaid. This is a major customer pain point.disposable wooden cutlery"
We know what remedies pain points, though: startup business models, which is why Hardee founded the bridesmaid dress manufacturer and rental website, which today announced $1.25 million in seed funding from Index Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz and others. The funding will be used to redesign the website, expand the dress style options available, and build up the team, which now numbers five, Hardee says. While the overall U.S. bridal market was $55 billion in 2012, according to the Wedding Report's most recent data, the bridesmaid dress market represents a significant slice. Each year, some 9 million to 10 million bridesmaids spend about $2 billion on dresses, spending an average of $230 per dress.Little Borrowed Dress lends dresses for less: cocktail length frocks go for $50 a pop and full-length gowns for $75 each. Designed to fit women of varying shapes and sizes without the need for alterations, the dresses arrive two weeks before the wedding, to allow for try-ons and to allay the nerves of worried brides. Customers mail the dresses back to the New York-based startup on the first business day after the wedding.lv monogram empreinte artsy price Or if they decide to keep the dresses, they can buy them for $150 and up. While Hardee wouldn't provide specific revenue numbers, she says the'pany has a stock of 3,000 dresses and during the height of wedding season in the summer 2013, 80 percent of them were rented.
Cheongsam means long robe in Cantonese
It's perhaps the most iconic scene in the most iconic Hong Kong movie of all time. The slender silhouette of the beautiful heroine, Su Li-zhen Maggie Cheung, emerging from the darkness, revealing herself in a figure-hugging cheongsam. The man she passes, newspaper editor Chow Mo-wan Tony Leung, can't help falling in love with such a figure of feminine elegance.Set in the 1960s, the golden era of the cheongsam in Hong Kong, Wong Kar Wai's hit movie, "In the Mood for Love" 2000,http://cnbattachment.com/ which won multiple best foreign movie awards, was a powerful showcase for how elegant and sexy the classic Chinese dress can be.Wong has said 20 to 25 cheongsam alone were made for the character played by Maggie Cheung.
"A Century of Fashion: Hong Kong Cheongsam Story," now running at the Hong Kong Museum of History until March 3, features 130 exhibits showcasing the history and evolution of the cheongsam, particularly the eras featured in popular films such as "In the Mood for Love" and "The World of Suzie Wong" 1960.Early cheongsam a feminist statementThe exhibition is a study in the history surrounding the iconic Chinese dress that can be confusing even to Chinese -- the proper use of "cheongsam" and "qipao," for instance."We prefer to call it cheongsam -- not qipao," says Osmond Chan, assistant curator of the exhibition.
"Cheongsam means long robe in Cantonese and actually only became a"mon woman's wear after the May Fourth Movement, or the New Culture Movement," he says."Women started wearing men's long robes as a feminist statement and trend during that anti-Qing era."Therefore, it's a bit of an oxymoron to continue calling the dress qipao, tissue paper pom pom wholesale which refers to the robe of the Manchu the ruling power of Qing Dynasty."Early cheongsam didn't have the tight, wholesale Coach Grade Sunglasses sale from www.gotoptrade.com homepage. figure-hugging shape the dress is known for today, but was originally worn loose on the body. The shape changed and became tighter in Shanghai in the 1920s and '30s, a time often referred to as the golden age of the cheongsam in Shanghai. With the rise of the Communist Party in the late 1940s and '50s, however, the dress, and the decadent Shanghai style it invoked, was restricted.Shanghai tailors fled to Hong Kong, bringing the cheongsam with them.

Suits sabotage U.S. speedskating? Your Say
Suits don't win races. The U.S. speedskating athletes just aren't as good as they used to be. Training in Salt Lake City was a mistake.Ladies can get their specific information at our website Discount Homecoming Dresses for sale. The team should have trained in the Midwest where the altitude better matches the one in Sochi, Russia.I have heard several times that athletes weren't gliding on the ice very well. The conditions in Sochi just might be the real issue vs. the suits. Only a handful of Olympic records have been broken in speedskating during the Games. This could indicate the ice is a little slower, which might bring other'petitors who adapted better into contention. It is possible that the suits had a negative psychological effect. Sport involves the mind as much as the body, and if you think you are invincible with a superman suit,White satin round neck lace beaded ball gown wedding dresses your mind controls your body in a different way. The science behind the suits was excellent, except they forgot the science of psychology.
Leading up to the Olympics,Discount Spaghetti Straps Beading Taffeta Short/Mini Cocktail Dresses Prom Dresses there was so much coverage of potential terrorist attacks that I think the low scores could be from nerves. I would be on edge and unable to concentrate, too, with this sense of "something bad is going to happen here."Amid a contentious battle over whether a suit designed by Under Armour is leading to slower times from America's top speed skaters, U.S. Speedskating has received permission from the International Olympic Committee to switch back to the suits used during the recent World Cup season."For the remainder of the Winter Olympic Games, Team USA speedskaters will be wearing the previously-approved Under Armour skin suits used during recent World Cup'petition," U.S. Speedskating President Mike Plant said in a statement.
These World Cup suits — also worn by skaters during the Olympic trials, and also designed by Under Armour — are in Sochi, as one of three suits supplied to U.S. Speedskating by the apparel'pany in advance of the Games. To make the change, the entire U.S. team has to change. The organization's decision'es after the new Under Armour suit — called the "Mach 39" — came under heavy scrutiny for perceived designed flaws, notably a panel of mesh fabric on the back that skaters worried was creating excess drag. While American skaters have not placed blame on the new suit for the team's disappointing performance at the Winter Games, one skater, Heather Richardson, did ask for a slight alteration to the mesh panel prior to her seventh-place finish in the women's 1,000 meters.
U.S. speedskaters cleared to change suits
"They did adjust one part on the back, but it was just putting rubber over the mesh there," Richardson said, adding, "It had no effect, really.""We are constantly evaluating all aspects of race preparation and execution to help our athletes improve their output and maximize their physical and psychological advantages," Plant said in the statement. "Under Armour's mission is to make all athletes better, and they are working tirelessly with Team USA to ensure each athlete steps on the ice with 100% confidence so they are positioned to capture a spot on the podium. U.S. Speedskating is proud of its long-term, successful partnership with Under Armour, and we all look forward to the u'ing races.Discount White Chiffon A-line Sweedheart Beaded Rhinestone Evening/Prom Dresses"
Under Armour outfitted the U.S. Speedskating team with three different suits, Kevin Haley, the'pany's senior vice president for innovation, told USA TODAY Sports. One suit is the Mach 39, which has been used in each event by the overwhelming majority of skaters. The second is identical to the Mach 39 with one slight change, a removal of the "higher-tech folded shapes" from the original. It was worn by one racer in the men's 1,Wholesale Cheap Taffeta sweatheart Embroidery beaded a-line Quinceanera Dresses000 meters with no noticeable change in time, Haley said."We're happy to make the skaters as confident as they can be by letting them use whatever suit they want," Haley said. The third are the World Cup suits.
"It's a suit that we have total confidence in," Haley said. "They've performed well in it in the past.we want to bring more benefits for customers from all over the world Discount Cocktail dresses for sale."But Haley added that Under Armour testing has shown the Mach 39 suit, and its near-doppelganger, have tested faster in the past — if only by hundreds of tenths of a second."When you're dealing with the margins that you're dealing with, it's more important to put the skater in a suit that the skater feels'fortable in and confident in," he said. "We're confident that all of the suits have shown the ability for athletes to skate fast in them."Star U.S. skaters Shani Davis and Brian Hansen are back on the ice on Saturday in the men's 1,500 meters. As the disappointments mount for an American speedskating team with significant Olympic expectations, skaters such as Brittany Bowe, Heather Richardson and Shani Davis find themselves attempting to explain what might be inexplicable.
